In Senior School, each student is allocated to a small pastoral care group with others in the same year and College House. This pastoral care group has a Pastoral Care Teacher. The Pastoral Care Teacher is the first point of contact for any wellbeing related questions or concerns for your child.
Students remain in this same pastoral care group of students throughout Senior School. This encourages students to get to know other students better. It also gives them a group to belong to and identify with.
Students meet in these small groups each day and students will have an opportunity to develop a close relationship with their PC Teacher.
These groups also form the basis of regular Pastoral Care lessons, which cover topics designed to enhance the students’ understanding of themselves and others. Pastoral Care teachers will regularly check student diaries and uniform. They take the responsibility of caring for those students in their charge in a pastoral sense and encourage and support their group in their education towards their best effort.
Year 7 Pastoral Care classes have 4-6 Year 11 students as Peer Support leaders allocated to
each class. These Peer Support leaders have undertaken training to help students to settle into Senior School and enjoy building relationships with the younger students. These relationships are part of the way that we develop the sense of community at the College.
