BULLYING

Thomas Hassall is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all students and creating a caring and supportive culture that promotes positive relationships.

The College recognises that every person is created “in the image and likeness of God” (Genesis 1:28) and every student is unique and valuable. Bullying behaviours are in conflict with the core Christian values of love, respect, equality, and compassion. Bullying undermines the wellbeing of students, and the College considers all forms of bullying behaviour unacceptable. Some bullying behaviours can be found to be criminal.

The College seeks to:

  • Prevent bullying through the creation of a safe, respectful and supportive school culture
  • Respond to bullying behaviour in ways that are just and effective, with a focus on safety, restoring relationships (where appropriate) and educating students about respectful relationships.

The College has developed a Bullying Fact Sheet for parents that can be read or downloaded below.
